In this first of a two-part lecture, Amol Saxena, DPM and Sona Ramdath Jr, DPM, AACFAS deal with foot & ankle injuries with athletes involved in lateral motion sports, such as basketball and soccer. Acute & chronic Achilles are discussed. The diagnosis & treatment of plantar fascia ruptures is explained. Proximal 5th metatarsal injuries such as Jones fractures are also highlighted.The listener should be able to definitively diagnose and treat these injuries after completing this session.
